Emerging bands to get a chance to play Download
Download Festival is teaming with Red Bull Bedroom Jam, the weekly live music webcast for young, emerging bands which returns today to give eight bands the chance to play at the legendary festival.
This year bands have the chance to play the behemoth of the festival circuit; Download, but they need to impress the panel of judges, which this year will not only include Charlie Simpson of Fightstar but also Andy Copping, Vice President of Music at Live Nation, and Beckie Sugden from The Agency.
Recording sessions at Red Bull’s brand new HQ are also on the table plus a UK wide tour in support of a major act…and entering couldn’t be easier.
Each week a band will be chosen by a new Buzz Radar system taking into account the level of interest on the Red Bull Bedroom Jam site as well as other social media buzz such as MySpace and Twitter.
As with last year, when the likes of Frank Turner, Alexisonfire and Twin Atlantic were guests, Red Bull Bedroom Jam will continue to feature some of the biggest names in alternative music each week.
A total of sixteen bands will play live from their bedroom to the world across as many weeks, 8 of them will be chosen to perform at Download and other festivals throughout the summer.
Of those bands, three will be chosen by our panel of industry judges as the best Red Bull Bedroom Jam bands of the year.
The final three then go up for another viewers’ vote, the winner of which will secure a two week recording session at Red Bull’s brand new, state of the art studio in London with a top producer as well as a UK wide tour!
